DMTF Technology Overview

This talk will provide an introduction to the technical work that is done within the DMTF.  It will cover the technical organization, how specifications are developed, and provide an overview of the DMTF specifications and activities underway within the technical working groups.  It is intended for developers who are new to the DMTF.


CIM  & the CIM Core Schema

This tutorial session will explain the DMTF’s Common Information Model (CIM) and CIM Core Schema.  The tutorial will discuss CIMs OO approach, how CIM is defined, and walk through the CIM Core Schema.


CIM Common Models

This tutorial session will explain the DMTF’s Common Information Model (CIM) for Physical, Device, and System.  It will build upon the information presented in the CIM Core Schema tutorial session.  The common models provide definitions for the modeling of computer systems, operating systems, logical devices and physical elements, which can be used to enable vendor-neutrality in the data center.
Extending CIM

This session is intended for new CIM users who would like to learn more about applying and extending the CIM Schema. The session will establish a methodology and high level guidelines for extending the CIM Schema and provide examples. It will also cover some basic tricks and tips for organizing CIM Schema extension files.

Indications

This session is intended for developers that need to understand CIM Indications. The presentation will describe the CIM Indication terminology, model, Indication subscription process, components and delivery. The presentation will use the CIM-XML protocol and use cases to describe the complete indication program flow.

CQL: CIM Query Language

This talk describes the CIM Query Language as defined by the preliminary version of the CIM Query Language Specification, DSP0202.  The talk will cover the base language and the proposed template language together with all optional features, including: arrays, joins, sub queries, embedded objects, time functions, aggregation functions and others.

CIM Version 3.0

This presentation will give an overview of the work being done to develop Version 3 of the CIM Model. It will cover both the changes to the specification (including mapping to UML2 and addition of complex data types) and also the changes being considered for the Schema (including removal of deprecations and simplified keying).
