| The
Developer Track focuses on the challenges facing a developer
today in creating management client applications and
instrumentation. The sessions will include (Application Programming
Interfaces) APIs, Tips and Tricks, Security, Events and much more. The
sessions will include code examples and demonstrations. |
Web
Services is poised to become the basis for many future management
standards based protocols. This track will concentrate on two new
efforts for standardizing web services for management: WSDM and
WS-Management. |
Until
recently server management has been highly proprietery in nature.
This track will provide sessions on topics such as the new SMASH
initiative from the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) as well as
IPMI, virtualization and other server management related standards and
specifications. |
This
track will concentrate on how to manage storage based on the Storage
Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) from the Storage Network
Industry Association (SNIA). Presentations will address the
various areas of storage management, such as SAN, NAS, Array, Fibre,
iSCSI as well as how to develop solutions based on the
specification. |

| As management standards
continue to evolve and grow, the need for developer tools increase.
This track will focus on various developer tools that will help to
increase production and time to market. |
The DMTF track is targeted to developers/engineers that are new to CIM and WBEM technologies. This track will provide a complete overview of the technologies as well as future directions. | The Networking/Telco
track will provide sessions that focus on using the Common
Information Model (CIM) to model complex networking concepts as well as
future networking management and how these relate to current industry
networking and telecommunications standards. |
As availability
requirements continue to increase, systems and services must become
more reliable. The Service Availability Forum has developed a set of
specifications and API's that address this area. This track will
describe the specifications and interfaces and the
need for them. |

| The developers lab is a
place for all attendees to go to get hands on experience with various
implementations or to just kick back and relax while networking with
other engineers. |
The University Day is a
one day event designed to get beginners up to speed on the
various technologies before the conference gets into full swing.
This one day event is a must for any newbie to CIM, WBEM, SMI or SMASH. |
