Storage Management
Monitoring the health of hardware systems in multi-vendor environments is a difficult problem for IT. The Common Diagnostic Model (CDM) uses CIM to solve this problem. The CDM Forum is a group of industry champions whose charter is to foster the adoption of CDM. Presentations will discuss CDM and the CDM Forum. Additional presentations will provide information and guidance about developing CDM solutions. Web Services is poised to become the basis for many future management standards based protocols. This track will concentrate on two new efforts for standardizing web services for management: WSDM and WS-Management.
Until recently server management has been highly proprietery in nature.  This track will provide sessions on topics such as the new SMASH initiative from the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) as well as IPMI, virtualization and other server management related standards and specifications.
This track will concentrate on how to manage storage based on the Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) from the Storage Network Industry Association (SNIA).  Presentations will address the various areas of storage management, such as SAN, NAS, Array, Fibre, iSCSI as well as how to develop solutions based  on the specification.
