Track - Systems Management
SMASH & DASH
Overview
Jon Hass, Dell
Jeff Hilland, Hewlett Packard
This
session will provide an overview of SMASH & DASH, including their
differences and their similarities. The presentation will
include architectural models and implementation requirements, including
the protocol requirements for the SM CLP and
WS-Management and a brief discussion of the profiles.
SMASH & DASH Profiles, part I - existing modeling
Jon Hass, Dell
Hemal Shah, Broadcom
This
presentation will provide an overview of existing modeling referenced
by the SMASH & DASH Implementation Requirements
Specifications. This will include Computer System Profiles
(such as Base Desktop & Mobile, Base Server and Service Processor
as well as Modular System), Device Profiles (such as CPU, Memory and
Fan), Services (such as CLP Service and Boot), Networking (IP, DNS,
DHCP) as well as Physical Asset, Logs and Software/Firmware related
profiles.
SMASH & DASH Profiles, part II - new
modeling
Joel Clark, Intel
Steve Hand, Symantec
This
presentation will provide an overview of some of the new modeling
referenced by the SMASH & DASH Implementation Requirements
Specifications. This will include the Enabled Logical Element
Profile and it's affect on future profiles and Standard Messaging
and Eventing. It will also cover the new Service Profiles, such
as the Redirection Service Profiles (KVM, USB and Text Console) as
well as the new Device Profiles (including PCI, TPM, LED and Battery)
SMASH & DASH Profiles, part III - BIOS & Opaque Data
David Hines, Intel
Joe Kozlowski, Dell
This presentation will provide an overview of some of the new modeling referenced by the SMASH & DASH Implementation Requirements Specifications. This session will largely focus on the BIOS model and profile as well as the Opaque Data model and profile.
SMASH & DASH Profiles, part IV - Power Management Profiles
Khachatur Papanyan, Dell
This presentation will provide
an overview of some of the new modeling referenced by the SMASH &
DASH
Implementation Requirements Specifications. This session will
largely
focus on the modeling of power management such as power redundancy,
consumption
and allocation models.
SMASH
& DASH Panel Discussion
Moderator: Jeff Hilland, Hewlett
Packard
Talk with the presenters and authors of SMASH & DASH Implementation Requirements and Profiles Specifications as well as the leaders of the Systems Management Forum. Bring in your questions on the standards, compliance & interoperability, messaging or any other subject related to SMASH & DASH in the DMTF.
Introducing the Systems
Management Forum (SMF)
Will Pagán, IBM
Bob Blair, AMD
The Systems Management Forum was founded in 2007 to replace and
surpass the mission of the SMASH Forum. This newly formed DMTF
Forum is chartered to develop test methodologies and tools to ensure
that vendors create systems management implementations that are
conformant to the SMASH and DASH initiatives. This session will
present the work and progress of the Systems Management Forum, along
with a look into the processes and tools being developed to evaluate
implementations for conformance.
