| Monitoring the health of hardware systems in multi-vendor environments is a difficult problem for IT. The Common Diagnostic Model (CDM) uses CIM to solve this problem. The CDM Forum is a group of industry champions whose charter is to foster the adoption of CDM. Presentations will discuss CDM and the CDM Forum. Additional presentations will provide information and guidance about developing CDM solutions. | Until recently server management has been highly proprietery in nature. This track will provide sessions on topics such as the SMASH initiative and DASH initiative from the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF). | This
track will concentrate on how to manage storage based on the Storage
Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S)
from the Storage Network
Industry Association (SNIA).
Presentations will address the
various areas of storage management, such as SAN, NAS, Array, Fibre,
iSCSI as well as how to develop solutions based on the
specification. |

track includes session on CIM Models and how they are being used in the
industry. |
The Developer Track focuses on the challenges facing a developer today in creating management client applications and instrumentation. The sessions will include (Application Programming Interfaces) APIs, Tips and Tricks, Security, Events and much more. The sessions will include code examples and demonstrations. | Web Services is poised to become the basis for many future management standards based protocols. This track will concentrate on two new efforts for standardizing web services for management: WSDM and WS-Management. | |
