Track - Common Diagnostic Model (CDM)
CDM Standard
Technical Overview
Kevin Kuelbs, Hewlett Packard
Eric Tend, Hewlett Packard
What is the Common Diagnostic Model? What does the model look like
and how does it all fit together to provide common diagnostics?
This session will describe the CDM v2 model, including the details of
the classes, associations and properties and the CDM Profile that
describes the intended usage of the CDM model.
CDM Forum Plans &
Timeline
Jerry Chin, Hewlett Packard
Champions in the
industries have created the CDM Forum under the DMTF Interoperability
Initiative. The charter of the forum is to drive broad and rapid
adoption of CDM across the entire computer industry.
Come learn about the CDM Forum initiatives: coordinating and pooling
industry resources, development tools for CDM,
Interoperability/Conformance testing, Interoperability PlugFest,
including timeline for these initiatives.
CDM Development Tools
Jeff Rose, Dell
Does the prospect of writing a CDM provider from scratch sound like
a daunting task?
What tools are available to assist in the development of your CDM
provider?
This session will focus on available options for CDM provider
development.
CDM Conformance Program and Birds of a Feather Session
Rodney Brown, IBM
Integrating diagnostics developed by multiple companies can be very challenging. Even diagnostics developed to an industry standard schema, such as CDM, often result in interoperability issues. How do you know that your CDM provider is compatible with CDM providers from other suppliers?
This session focuses on the CDM Profile and Conformance Testing process that will ensure a high level of interoperability and customer acceptance. The session will also include open discussion with the CDM technical leaders. This is an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about CDM technology, implementation & tools, vendor strategies and to provide feedback on the conformance process. Panel members will be confirmed later, but it's hoped that at least all of the Leadership members of the CDM Forum will participate (i.e. IBM, HP, Dell, and Symantec).
